Synopsis

Good Chef Bad Chef tells the tale of an intense culinary competition between husband and wife. The story follows the couple with very different cooking styles as they try to prepare their own dishes in their kitchen. With a desperate need to one-up the other, they fail to even notice the headless chook that is fighting for its life as it tries to escape its doomed fate. From hogging the oil, to dynamite chillies and even a slippery tango, Mr and Mrs. Chef will go to the ends of the earth to prove that they are the better chef

Director's Statement

If you ask my parents what they’re like when it comes to cooking together, they'll say things like "loving" and "collaborative." The reality is an unspoken competition over who gets to be crowned the better chef at every family dinner. There are dramatic accusations that adding extra salt is “sabotaging” the other's dish. This film is inspired by its colourful dynamic, and its style is a homage to the cartoons they grew up watching, like the works of Hanna Barbera.
